HYPOGONADISM PANEL, MALES

Hypogonadism (testosterone deficiency) in adult men is a clinical and biochemical syndrome associated with low level of testosterone, which may adversely affect multiple organ functions and quality of life. Measurement of gonadotropins (LH & FSH) along with testosterone helps to differentiate between primary or secondary cause of Hypogonadism. In the past, decreasing testosterone levels were viewed as a normal part of ageing process. Now however, these decreases when accompanied by symptome of decreased libido, sexual dysfunction, decreased energy levels, decreased muscle mass etc. are regarded as late onset hypogonadism (Testosterone deficiency syndrome).
