THALASSEMIA PROFILE

Thalassemias are a group of autosomal recessive disorders of hemoglobin synthesis. They result from the under-production of 1 or 2 types of globin chains. Severity of illness is directly related to the number of genes deleted or affected. This assay is useful for the diagnosis of Thalassemia.
